## Homemade Red Wine Truffle Recipe

### Ingredients

- 350 g of milk chocolate
- 100 ml of cream
- 50 ml of Merlot red wine
- Cocoa powder

### Preparation

1. On a cutting board or in a medium bowl, chop or grate the chocolate into very small pieces. Set aside.
2. In a large non-stick skillet, add the cream, heat over medium heat until just before boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum, add the chopped chocolate, and stir everything with a spatula until melted and integrated.
3. Turn off the heat and add the red wine, continue stirring until a homogeneous and smooth mixture is obtained. Reserve in a clean bowl, let it cool to room temperature, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
4. Take a small amount of the mixture with a spoon and form small balls with the palms of your hands, about 2 to 3 centimeters in diameter. Place them in a dish and repeat with the entire mixture.
5. Spread the cocoa powder on a plate or wide dish and roll the truffles until the entire surface is evenly covered. Reserve and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
6. Serve the red wine truffles as an appetizer, dessert, or accompanied by a good coffee or a glass of wine.

## Chocolate Truffle History

The chocolate truffle recipe originated during Christmas in 1895. It was created by chocolatier Louis Dufour in Chambéry, France.

## Did you know?

Dufour was already familiar with the “Tuber melanosporum” truffle, also known as black truffle. Inspired by its appearance and texture, he decided to imitate it.
