Chilean Juan José Orueta, founder of “La Obra” in Curicó, has been highlighted among the world’s best ice cream makers, ranking 23rd in the Gelato Festival World Ranking.

This classification, which included participation from over 8,000 ice cream makers worldwide, awarded Orueta 120 points and two crowns.

South American Challengers

Orueta outperformed several prominent ice cream makers from the region. Breno Floriano from Brazil (“San Lorenzo”) reached 31st with 99 points and one crown, and Armando José Laiun (“Gelateria Cairu”, Brazil) ranked 35th with 91 points.

Colombia and Mexico

Daniela Lince Ledesma from Colombia (Amor-Acuya, Medellín) reached 48th with 72 points. Alfonso Jarero from Mexico (“Ozio”, Mexico City) placed 74th with 44 points.

Giovanna Bonazzi from “La Parona del gelato” in Parona, Italy, ranked 2nd with 213 points, and Savannah G. Lee from “Savannah’s Gelato Kitchen” in San Francisco ranked 3rd with 208 points.
